While the economy recovers, it is a well known fact that employees are out searching to find which companies are offering the best incentives to their employees. Once loyal employees who would stand by their company to brave the storm, are now searching for better options among other organizations. With that in mind, it is imperative that organizations act quickly to decrease voluntary turnover. The following three examples are things that you can do to retain your top talent:
- Determine whether or not your employees feel sufficiently compensated, especially if there were any types of monetary or benefit reduction. This can easily be done by conducting an anonymous survey where your employees don’t feel intimidated to respond truthfully without a possibility of loosing their jobs by how they answer.
- Evaluate your top talent to determine if there are opportunities available to add to that pool by assisting lower level employees in gaining the experience and knowledge needed to increase the number of top talents in your organization.
- Implement non-financial incentives such as mentoring programs, on-site training programs, flexible work schedules, and dress down days.
Please feel free to share with us any other incentives that have worked for your organization with ensuring that your employees are engaged and happy and not walking out the door.
