Mark Twain said “The best way to cheer yourself up is to try to cheer somebody else up.” Do you believe this? Do you ever smile at someone purposely just to see if they will smile back? Do you believe in paying it forward?
This famous quote reminds me of mentoring. It’s simple really: you get what you give. If you put the time, energy, and effort into a corporate mentoring program, the reward will come back to you. Corporate mentoring does take time, but if the effort is put into your employees, the reward that comes back to you and your business is the great prize. You will have employees who are connected and feel a sense of commitment to your business and the common goal.
Look around your office. Are your employees smiling? If you smile at them, do they smile back? As Mark Twain suggested, cheer them up! Try out a mentoring program and watch the benefits as your employees and your business soar!
